Reporting Absence

If it is necessary for you to be unexpectedly absent for any reason, you must notify your Supervisor by telephone 4 hours or more before you are due to report to work. This procedure is mandatory so that plans can be made for your duties to be assigned to someone else or distributed among your co-workers. Reporting your absence to the switchboard operator or to one of your co-workers is not acceptable. Reporting your absence via email or text is also not acceptable.  You should report daily if your absence extends beyond one (1) day. If you do not report as required you will be considered a No Call / No Show and subject to consequences under that policy.  Absence due to personal business should be discussed with your Supervisor prior to making your plans.
